Frank Zappa Metal Man Has Hornet's Wings
EXTREMELY RARE live recordings of Frank Zappa with Captain Beefheart on GOLD VINYL. THICK DEEP GROOVE vinyl has some light surface/sleeve marks just holding grade down, nothing I can feel. Labels are excellent. Plain cover in shrinkwrap has light cornerwear. Yellow UNGLUED Slick is in excellent condition.
This is the profoundly hilarious radio station appearance by Zappa and Beefheart in which Frank unveils a bevy of rare live and studio recordings while both gentlemen comment on the musical proceedings. The music on the lp includes some of Frank's earliest known recordings! Side 1: Metal Man has Hornet Wings (early '63 or '64 by the Soots), Black Napkins (LA. Shrine '74), Untitled studio instrumental (early '64), Story of Electricity, Unconditionally Guaranteed (live magic band circa '74), Whiskey Gone Behind the Sun > Mondo Hollywood (2 very early live recordings),Lightning Rod Man (studio), My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama (b-side); Side 2: Rock Around the Clock, Sandwich Song (early Mothers '64), How Could I Be Such a Fool (original track for "Freakout" lp but omitted), Boogie for Berkeley (rare 10-piece mothers performance from '68), Neon Meat Dream of an Octafish (Trout Mask outtake '69), King kong (first version, London '69), Speed Freak Boogie.
