Def Leppard High 'N' Dry (1983 PRC-C RE, Quiex, Inner, Masterdisk HW+RL)
1983 reissue on black Mercury labels with '26' printed on the left side and 'PRC-C' etching in the dead wax run-outs (pressed at PRC Recording Company, Compton, CA). Pressed on translucent (when held to light) QUIEX II VIRGIN VINYL! 'MASTERDISK HW' (Howie Weinberg) in dead wax on side 1 and 'MASTERDISK RL' (Bob Ludwig) in dead wax on side 2.
Vinyl has a few light surface sleeve scuffs/hazing mostly on side 1 just holding grade back, nothing I can feel. Side 1 label has a touch of wear around the spindle hole. Original inner sleeve has cornerwear/edgewear, seam splitting at the center of bottom and side edges and small rips/splits at the top of the side edges. Cover has light cornerwear/edgewear, a light ding top right corner, light ringwear/hazing, a stain center of bottom edge on the front cover and the front cover has some indentations where someone used the cover as a surface to write on.
If you’re not familiar with QUIEX, it's like this: As CDs began coming on the scene in the 1980’s, record companies started pressing “Quiex II” LPs primarily for radio stations. The idea was to show that vinyl was still king and sounded just as good--or better--than CDs. MOST Quiex pressings were marked as Quiex that were shipped to radio. If too many were pressed, they were packaged as regular LPs and those lucky enough to unknowingly buy them were then blessed with clearer sound! This translucent (when held to light) AUDIOPHILE beauty is one of those pressings!
