Stephen Sondheim Into The Woods - Original Cast Recording (Quiex, DMM, Book)

Recorded in RCA's Studio A, November 9 and 10, 1987. This Broadway production opened November 5, 1987, at the Martin Beck Theatre, New York City. Originally produced by the Old Globe Theater, San Diego, California.

Original 1988 RCA Victor DIRECT METAL MASTER AUDIOPHILE pressing on translucent (when held to light) QUIEX VINYL! Includes 24-page booklet.

Vinyl is NM and excellent with a couple very faint surface sleeve scuffs. Labels are excellent. Original poly-lined RCA inner sleeve has light handling wear/wrinkling. Booklet has light moisture wear/staining at the bottom corners. Gatefold cover has cornerwear/edgewear, light spidering/creasing around the edges (mostly back cover), light image ripping bottom right corner inside gatefold and light moisture wear/bowing bottom right corner of back cover.

If you’re not familiar with QUIEX, it's like this: As CDs began coming on the scene in the 1980’s, record companies started pressing “Quiex II” LPs primarily for radio stations. The idea was to show that vinyl was still king and sounded just as good--or better--than CDs. MOST Quiex pressings were marked as Quiex that were shipped to radio. If too many were pressed, they were packaged as regular LPs and those lucky enough to unknowingly buy them were then blessed with clearer sound! This translucent (when held to light) AUDIOPHILE beauty is one of those pressings!
