Vinyl has a few light scuffs from sleeve holding grade down. RE-2 in matrix trail off confirming this IS a remixed version, as indicated on back cover (some standard copies made it into the remixed jackets, so the only way to be sure is check the matrix). Cover has light cornerwear, faint ringwear. Labels are excellent. Songs: St. Stephen, Duprees Diamond Blues, Rosemary, Doin' that Rag, Mountains of the Moon, China Cat Sunflower, What's Become of the Baby, Cosmic Charlie." />

Grateful Dead Aoxomoxoa (REMIX)

RARE 1972 REMIX RELEASE WITH ALTERNATE SONG VERSIONS. VERY hard to find these as the album was already on the wane just months after release. Those who really want it bought it as soon as it came out, so the remix copies are fewer and farther between.
WHY THE REMIX? Many theories, but the prevalent one is that the original mix was "too weird" for a commercial market. Some changes: Overall tone is brighter, higher and less echo-y and bass-y. The lead-in to Cosmic Charlie, when someone tells the band to "make it loud" and Jerry responds "get fucked" is deleted. Dupree's Diamond Blues has a radically different mix. China Cat Sunflower's original mix has been evened out. The a cappella vocal end to Doin' That Rag is edited out. Some of the bagpipe effects during St. Stephen, some effects during What's Become of The Baby are changed. Probably more changes...
