000 Maniacs 10 In My Tribe (WLP, SRC, Quiex, Shrink, Hype, Inner)
RARE original 1987 WHITE LABEL PROMO COPY on translucent (when held to light) QUIEX AUDIOPHILE VINYL complete with 'Peace Train' and audiophile HYPE STICKERS, cover still in the SHRINK-WRAP, and printed INNER SLEEVE! Gold PROMO STAMP at top edge of back cover. Specialty Records Corporation pressing denoted by 'SRC' logo in dead wax run-outs and 'SP' label matrix suffix. Mastered by Doug Sax and Mike Reese at The Mastering Lab ('TML' stamp in dead wax run-outs).
Vinyl is NM and excellent with a few extremely faint paper sleeve scuffs. Labels have a few faint spindle marks. Original inner sleeve has light wear along the top edge and a small split at one of the top corners. Cover in the original shrink-wrap with hype stickers directly on the cover has a saw-cut at top of spine edge, a hint of cornerwear, and the lightest hint of wear along exposed right side edge just holding grade back from NM. Writing in blue marker on the shrink-wrap on front and back cover. Shrink-wrap splitting at right side of bottom edge.
Songs: Like The Weather, Hey Jack Kerouac, A Campfire Song, and more.
If you’re not familiar with QUIEX, it's like this: As CDs began coming on the scene in the 1980’s, record companies started pressing “Quiex II” LPs primarily for radio stations. The idea was to show that vinyl was still king and sounded just as good--or better--than CDs. MOST Quiex pressings were marked as Quiex that were shipped to radio. If too many were pressed, they were packaged as regular LPs and those lucky enough to unknowingly buy them were then blessed with clearer sound! This translucent (when held to light) AUDIOPHILE beauty is one of those pressings!
